Sylvia Borges discovered her love for storytelling at the theatre, where she initially worked as an assistant director and stage manager. She learned how to work with actors and developed original plays with teenagers. After three years at several theaters she started a long journey through Europe and walked over 4,500 miles. It wasn’t a journey to a certain place but to the people. She learned to observe, to ask and listen.
2014, Sylvia graduated from the ‘Academy of Media Arts’ (KHM) in Cologne, Germany, where she studied screenwriting and directing. Since then she has worked internationally as a freelance director, writer, script consultant and as a producer for free projects. Her short films were awarded with more than 50 international prizes, as well as numerous nominations.
