Travis Matthews

TRAVIS MATHEWS is an award-winning filmmaker whose movies have largely focused on gay men, intimacy and the struggles and joys of connecting the two. Informed with a Masters in Counseling Psychology and a background in documentary, Mathews is a self-taught filmmaker based in San Francisco.

INTRUDERS is his first collaboration with Erika Lust, shot in São Paulo, Brazil, where he lives part time with his Brazilian husband and producer, João Federici. The film demonstrates his growing interest to marry themes of his existing work with a playful, but serious, reflection of current political landscapes.
