Consolation

A Sexual Fantasy

— By Paolo

My wife died last year and I have been incredibly lonely. Not for sex, specifically, but companionship and for a friendly ear. For contact. But people feel awkward around me and want to respect my grief and my state of solitary mourning. They keep their distance. As a result, I have a fantasy that a grief counsellor comes to my house and we talk about loss and companionship and they LISTEN and we hug and it brings about a release of emotion for both of us. They could be a man or a woman, their gender is not important. What is important is their ability to recognise that connection between grief and passion, and the therapy of sexual release.
